What we are reading, writing and winning.
Compliance changes, sector briefings and company news, written for the people who run the contracts.
AOG took a four-supplier mess and gave us one project manager, one report and one number to call. Compliance scores are up, weekend escalations are down, and the procurement team has stopped chasing certificates.
Social value built into the contract, not bolted on.
Public-sector and main-contractor tenders now score carbon and social value. We report against those measures as standard, so the points are there when you bid.
Net zero
A measured route to net zero across fleet, energy and supply chain, with carbon reported every year against a fixed baseline.
Social value
Local labour, apprenticeships and Real Living Wage commitments mapped to the Social Value Model, so they count where your tender is scored.
Governance
ISO-backed management systems, modern slavery compliance and ESG reporting reviewed at board level, not delegated to a policy document.
What procurement teams ask us first.
What does Ascent Onsite Group do?
Ascent Onsite Group is a UK facilities-services company that delivers security, FM and cleaning, construction support, vacant property protection and fire protection under one accountable operator. Ascent Onsite Group runs all five divisions in-house, so a client can cover a single building or a whole portfolio through one supplier rather than stitching together several specialists.
What is the one operator, five divisions model?
It means Ascent Onsite Group provides five distinct facilities-services divisions under a single contract, project manager and report, rather than as five separate companies. The five divisions are Security, FM and Cleaning, Construction Support, Vacant Property and Fire Protection (DefendX). Buying them from one operator removes the gaps and the finger pointing that appear when several suppliers share a site, and gives procurement one point of accountability.
Where does Ascent Onsite Group operate?
Ascent Onsite Group operates across the UK, with local teams on each site and one central point of accountability. Clients tell the operations desk the locations and the services they need, and Ascent Onsite Group confirms coverage and a mobilisation plan for every site before any contract is signed.
Is Ascent Onsite Group accredited, and how do you vet your staff?
Ascent Onsite Group works to recognised industry standards and vets every person before deployment. Security officers hold a valid SIA licence and are screened to BS 7858, cleaning follows BICSc based methods, construction operatives hold the relevant CSCS card, and staff in sensitive settings such as schools are DBS checked. Management systems are aligned to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 for quality, environment and occupational health and safety, backed by CHAS, SafeContractor, PQS and Constructionline Gold for pre-qualification, so evidence is available when a tender or an audit asks for it.
How does Ascent Onsite Group manage a contract day to day?
Every Ascent Onsite Group contract is run by one named project manager who is accountable for delivery, supported by a weekly report and a single point of contact. Measurable service levels are agreed at the outset covering response times, audit scores and compliance, and Ascent Onsite Group reports against them so performance is visible rather than assumed. For multi-site clients the whole portfolio sits under that one relationship.
Why use Ascent Onsite Group instead of several separate suppliers?
Using Ascent Onsite Group replaces several contracts, invoices and points of contact with one operator, one project manager and one consolidated report. That removes the coordination cost and the gaps between suppliers, holds one consistent standard across every service and site, and lets services such as security, cleaning and fire protection be bundled where it lowers cost. Procurement gets a single accountable party instead of managing a supply chain.
